New additions to Cayuse Creek Ranch

A new 5 year old donkey, Mendigo, has joined us. He was purchased to help poor Diego get over the loss of his best friend for 10 years, Chico. Chico can never be replaced, but both Mendigo and Diego seem to be doing very well together.

Yoder’s Ruby (aka Ruby), a 17hh black Percheron mare, is our newest equine addition. She is a sweet, but somewhat stubborn, addition to our family. Her job will be to pull us around the Ganaraska Forest in a buggy – something we have not done before but are looking forward to. Right now she is out for basic training at Travis Hall with Dave Johnson.

Last week we were blessed with a beautiful male cria from our B.C. imported female alpaca – Sumaq Valley's Deelilah. The sire is Peppercorn, our grey stud male. It is his first offspring. Both mom and dad have good show records so we look forward to this young guy being a quality addition to our show herd. Consistent with our naming of new borns by spices, his name is Habanero.

First Posting

Well - how do you like Cayuse Creek's new website?

Some News:

Noresse, our beautiful SE bay mare and dam of Sadeek, our new colt, was recently sold to Bailey Arabians in Ohio. We all wish her a long and healthy life with her new owners. She has had seven beautiful foals in her life and should have a few more.

Caroline Fell, the young lady who rode Redneck last year in endurance, is the proud owner of a four year old chestnut SE gelding. We obtained him from Viera and Henry Bibr of Kilbride, ON. He is not yet registered, although Freddy is his barn name to date. Although he is just green broke (30 days), Caroline jumped on his back and he was a perfect gentleman. He certainly surprised us all with his calm demeanor. Watch for her on trail later this year.
